As our new Strategic HR Manager, you’ll be an experienced HR professional seeking an exciting role in a forward thinking and rapidly expanding business where you will make a difference. Being a people person goes without saying but you also have a strong strategic vision and the ability to win confidence and respect within all teams.
You will have personal, cultural and organisational development experience with solid knowledge in disciplines, training and development and employee relations.
As the EB expert in all things people and culture, you will be responsible for partnering with the Senior Leadership Team alongside our COO to create and implement the strategies needed to help us achieve our ambitious growth plans, whilst ensuring that our team have a voice that is listened to, and our current culture remains throughout that growth. You’ll also work closely with our managers to ensure that our current teams are as skilled as they can be and that they feel valued and know of the potential career opportunities that lie ahead of them and how to get there.
Key Duties will involve
- Establishing, leading, and evolving the HR department, in particular People & Culture. You will have support from an HR Officer.
- Working with the SLT to develop and implement a 5-year strategy.
- Partnering with senior leaders and managers across the business to foster a culture of high performance whilst ensuring that everyone is treated fairly and consistently.
- You will work closely with the Wellbeing Group to ensure that employees are given a voice and any changes and improvements are made where identified.
- Define the training and development strategy and annual plan for EB.
- Put in place succession planning strategies and processes across EB to support growth and retention plans. Direct change management and organisational development.
- Work with the senior team to review the effectiveness of the current benefits package and make and implement improvements and changes as required.
- Ensuring all company policies and procedures are up to date and in line with current employment law instigating new procedures as required.
- Working with managers to effectively manage employees in accordance with procedures ensuring any absence, disciplinaries, grievances and sickness are dealt with in a professional and timely manner.
- Embed equality and diversity as part of the culture of the organisation.
Qualifications and skills preferred
· Experience in aiding a fast-growing, private equity company
· 5 years+ experience of a proven HR generalist in SME sized company
· Ability to review legislation, regulatory requirements, and guidance
· Inspirational leader who is able to engage, enthuse and motivate colleagues and stakeholders at all levels in the business.
· Proven ability to understand how to manage and develop culture.
· Membership of the CIPD

· Salary of c£70,000 per annum.
· Full time 35 hours per week.
· Head Office at the vibrant York University East campus with free onsite parking.
· Remote or Hybrid considered.
· 25 days holiday, plus bank holidays, birthday and wellness day.
