Job description
Directorate: Corporate Resources
Hours: 37 hours a week. (Part time applications considered)
Contract Type: Fixed term – 1 year
Location: This is a hybrid role, with some office working.
We have a unique role available for a seasoned communications professional who wants to be part of something special!
Four areas in the Midlands (Derby, Derbyshire, Nottingham and Nottinghamshire) are currently working together to create a new East Midlands Combined County Authority (EMCCA).
We’re looking for someone to work alongside the EMCCA programme team to lead the strategic planning and delivery of communications and marketing activities for the programme.
You will work in collaboration with the four D2N2 organisations, including their senior leaders and politicians, as well as external partners, to develop and deliver communications strategies that set out the communications vision and direction for the EMCCA.
This would be a great opportunity for someone with a strong communications and PR background, who is confident, diplomatic and enthusiastic. You’ll be personable, and proactive, and able to work strategically across the four organisations.
This role will be responsible for directing the work of additional communications role(s) dedicated to the EMCCA programme, though direct line management responsibilities are not part of this role.
We think the people working on this programme are some of the best, and the relationships built over the last nine months have been key, so we’re really excited to meet you and welcome you to this unique inter-authority team!
If you’d like an informal chat about the role, feel free to call:
Kara MacFadyen, Head of Communications and Marketing on 01332 640236.
All employees will normally be appointed to the minimum of the grade for the job. For reasons connected with a particular need of the Council it may be appropriate, subject to approval, to appoint to a higher point in the pay grade.
Please be aware that where there are staff within the organisation who are 'at risk' of redundancy, requirements to redeploy to another suitable role will apply and take priority.
Quick Tip! Remember to align your personal statement to the Essential Criteria in the Person Specification
