Position Overview:
Location: MoD Lyneham, Chippenham, Wiltshire, England, SN15 4PZ
Job Type: Permanent, Full Time
Hours: 37.5 hours a week
Based in Lyneham, Wiltshire we are looking for a Stores person, the candidate would need to be flexible, professional and have the capability to multi-task when and where needed, to fulfil the business need and the delivery of the day-to-day handling processes. Activities would include accounting, stocktaking, custody, receipts and issue, the activities will be conducted utilising MOD IT applications and conducted in line with MOD policy, assuring the accurate and timely service delivery. Training will be given where required.
Responsibilities
Deliver a range of stores related tasks
Carry out stocktaking and ensure compliance checks are completed correctly including after actions as determined by the Stores Manager and Supervisor
Collate and present Key Performance Indicator (KPI) information, presenting supporting evidence where necessary
Support the supply chain Supervisors in delivery of operational objectives, deputising when requested to do so.
Develop and maintain effective relationships with all stakeholders.
Carry out requirements of duty keys on a rota basis.
Actively promote a safe working culture and adhere to the Health and Safety procedures, processes and law
Undertake other tasks as determined by the Line Manager including emerging requirements as the business need evolves. This could include interoperable cover for other personnel such as Mail, R&D etc.
What we are looking for
A reliable and competent person with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Confident with good professional ability and demonstrable track record of delivering quality storekeeping and administration support and ability to work unsupervised. Self-motivated and able to use own initiative, responsive to company and customer requirements, pro-active and versatile with the ability to adapt to the changing needs of the business. Ability to operate effectively with integrity at all levels, coupled with good written and numerical skills, and:
Good organisational skills and experience of working to deadlines
Effective interpersonal communication skills
Working knowledge of MS Office applications
Flexible approach to accommodate changing requirements and priorities
Good customer facing skills and the ability to develop close working relationships
Experience/familiarity in a similar military role would be an advantage, not essential.
Experience/qualifications of the Multi-Joint Deployed Inventory (MJDI) would be an advantage, not essential.
The successful applicant will be required to attend MOD run courses in line with the output.
