Sancta Maria Hospital currently have the opportunity for an experienced Stores Clerk to join our team in Swansea.

The successful candidate will work as part of a team providing materials to all departments within the hospital, ensuring that all items required are in stock and available when required, working at all times within the guidelines laid down in the Company Policies.

We are the only private hospital in Swansea offering a wide range of procedures carried out by a number of our leading consultants. This is an exciting time to be a part of the team at Sancta Maria Hospital as we have recently opened our brand-new state-of-the-art private hospital situated in the SA1 area of Swansea.

The successful candidate will work 37.5 hours pw reporting directly to the Materials Manager

Skills

Key Responsibilities

  • To place orders for medical consumables, prosthesis, service contracts, stationery, printing, building maintenance, capital equipment, uniforms, and IT consumables.
  • To be responsible for monitoring stock levels according to the Hospital's activity using the min/max system for medical consumables.
  • To ensure the accurate maintenance of all stock records, including maintenance of the stock system
  • Develop and maintain a good working knowledge of the clinical stock
  • To check all deliveries against orders received, unpacking deliveries and stocking shelves.
  • To follow up all incomplete deliveries and to investigate and reconcile any queries arising from orders you have raised.
  • To operate a computerised stock control system.
  • To supply all clinical areas with their request for stores using the agreed top-up system.
  • To be responsible for consumable picking for operations.
  • To maintain and ensure accurate pricing records for use with the patients account.
  • To carry out quarterly stock takes and assist in implementing processes to increase stock accuracy and efficiency of stock holding.
  • To assist the Heads of Department in procuring good quality stock that is cost effective.
  • To assist the purchase ledger clerks with matching of any invoices raised together with the order form and delivery notes.
  • To carry out any other appropriate task as directed by the Materials Manager.
  • To ensure a professional, neat and tidy appearance following guidelines laid down by the Hospital’s uniform policy.
  • To organise & arrange returns/shipments back to suppliers.
