Job description
We are looking for a Stores Assistant who will be based at the Department of Engineering's Central site in Trumpington Street. You will join a small team who support the procurement of goods and services on behalf of the Department and/or research group in order to ensure smooth running of the stores service.
You will be responsible for checking goods on arrival, receiving and booking in deliveries and performing regular stock counts. In this busy role, you will also be supporting deliveries and collections, loading/unloading and delivering stock to and from various Departmental sites across Cambridge, as well as operating Forklift equipment to assist with the onsite movement of goods and equipment.
You will be educated to GCSE Maths and English/NVQ level 2 or equivalent, with good knowledge of stores maintenance and/or purchasing. Good organisational and communication skills, as well as experience of working with purchasing systems are essential for this role. Basic IT skills, knowledge of COSHH regulations/requirements and a clean and current UK driving licence are also necessary.
