Job description
- Offload and put away raw materials to maximise efficiency and minimise damage.
- Pick and deliver raw materials and packaging to meet schedule adherence targets and ensure that quality standards are maintained.
- Collect and put away finished product to maintain an efficient flow of material.
- Safely and accurately operate the Forklift truck equipment and palletisers. The role will spend approximately 70-80% of their time using this equipment.
- Ensure that day to day work is carried out in a safe manner and all near misses, incidents and accidents are reported / investigated. Look out for your peers, ensuring everyone is working safely and act as a role model.
- Deliver the dispatch plan as set out by the Plant Transport coordinators and ensure that OTIF (On time in full) targets are met.
- Carry out required cycle-counts to meet targets on pick-accuracy and minimise the risk of an issue in Production.
- Support the company to sustain a ‘World Class’ approach to 5S and warehouse organisation.
- Numeracy and Literacy with GCSE equivalent in Maths and English.
- Previous work experience in a Warehouse environment, ideally in the Chemical sector
- Ideally knowledge of Warehouse Management systems (e.g. SAP)
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Forklift truck License or the capacity to learn (Counterbalance, Reach, VNA)
- Reliable team worker, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities.
- Flexibility in working shifts and overtime if required at times of high demand. The ideal candidate may also be willing to work nights occasionally to cover holidays within the team.
