Job summary
We are looking for a multifaceted and hardworking individual who has strong interpersonal skills, flexibility, and a dedication to customer service. Selflessly putting the customer at the heart of everything we do and who values providing a service both individually and as part of a team in the lively Main Store/Forward Delivery Service (FDS), which sits within the busy Supply Chain department.
Responsible for ensuring that all regulations appertaining to the receipt, dispatch, issue, handling, preservation, stowage, and security of stores are accurately and consistently applied. Training on all Manual/IT systems will be provided, enabling the applicant to become proficient in their role, empowering them to make key independent decisions. To provide an efficient delivery service, ensuring assets are delivered to Squadrons/Departments at RNAS Culdrose in line with delivery schedule or as directed by department supervisor.
The applicant will also be required to assist with other duties within the department when situations decide.

Job description
- Maintaining the efficient continuous delivery of stores and equipment to Squadrons, departments and other outstations in and around RNAS Culdrose in line with the delivery schedule or as directed by the Skill Zone 3 (SZ3) Main Stores (MS) Supervisor.
- Liaise daily with the SZ3 MS and counterparts at Squadrons, departments and other outstations to ensure the timely collection and return of equipment to the SC department for processing and onward movement to meet mainland/overseas operational requirements.
- Record all Permanent and Limited items in FDS Log, obtaining signature from customer as proof of delivery. Where required sign for Permanent and Limited items upon collection from customer for return to SC department or onward movement to other Squadrons or departments.
- Carry out daily checks on FDS vehicle to ensure its serviceability. Highlight any faults/issues to SZ3 MS and or Mechanical Transport (MT) department to enable a prompt fix and to ensure replacement vehicle is made available to minimise delays to provision of the daily delivery service.
- Daily, correctly fill out F/MT 1001 Authority to Use Document (ATUD) and submit to MT at end of the month.
- Operate mechanical handling aids and other SC related transport to support various tasks within the department subject to training and possession of appropriate licences.
- Assist SZ3 MS with the ordering of equipment from internal/external sources to meet customer requirements using all available manual or IT systems in accordance with current SC procedures.
- Ensure items held within the MSG are stowed correctly and safely in accordance with current SC and H&S procedures. Items are made available for issue and passed to correct areas within the SC department to satisfy customer requirements at RNAS Culdrose, other mainland Stations or overseas detachments.
- Assist SZ3 MS with all ongoing M.O.D. disposal programmes. Liaise with other Squadrons/departments to ensure all items highlighted for disposal are applied for and centrally located in readiness for collection in agreed time scales.
- Assist SZ3 MS with control of elastomeric items entering or leaving the department. Ensure IT batch control systems are updated regularly, and out of life stock are removed from use and correct disposal action is taken in accordance with current SC procedures.
- Assist Building Manager with the maintenance of building security, cleanliness and environmental issues.
- Comply with all Station and Supply Chain Health & Safety regulations.
- Liaise with and assist other departments within the Supply Chain, providing cover to control work flows.
Person specification
The SZ2 Storekeeper is required to undertake duties commensurate with their grade within the Supply Chain (SC) department as directed by the Logistics Officer, Main Stores Group (LO MSG). They are responsible for ensuring their professional knowledge of storekeeping, stores accounting procedures and principles remain current.
