The coffee shop operates from a state-of-the-art, fully equipped Airstream Trailer, which opens up onto a beautiful, newly landscaped, courtyard garden.

POSITION OVERVIEW:


Are you a coffee connoisseur with a knack for exceptional customer service? We’re in search of a dynamic Coffee Shop Manager to orchestrate the seamless operation of our much-loved coffee shop.


As the Coffee Shop Manager, you’ll be the driving force behind our success. We need someone who will be proactive and resourceful, ensuring everything runs like clockwork. You’ll thrive working independently and you’ll have a passion for delivering outstanding customer service. Because delighting our customers is at the heart of what we do.


You will be responsible for managing the opening and closing procedures, utilising the REKKI app for ordering, utilising the SQUARE point of sale system, ensuring effective stock management, providing excellent customer service, maintaining equipment cleanliness, possessing head barista skills, ensuring compliance with food and hygiene regulations, and maintaining allergy awareness.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


Open and close the coffee shop:

  • Follow a checklist to ensure all tasks related to opening and closing are completed efficiently and accurately.
  • Ensure that the coffee shop is prepared for operation at the beginning of each day and securely closed at the end of the day.

Ordering through Rekki app:

  • Utilise the Rekki app to place orders for coffee beans, ingredients, supplies, and other necessary items, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Maintain an organised record of orders and invoices for reference and accountability.
  • Regularly review inventory levels and adjust orders to maintain optimal stock levels.

Proficiency in using Square point of sale system:

  • Experienced in using Square to process payments, manage inventory, and track sales.
  • Able to use Square to create and manage customer profiles, track customer spending, and send marketing emails.
  • Has a strong understanding of Square's features and functionality.

Stock management:

  • Implement effective stock management practices to minimise waste and optimise inventory levels.
  • Conduct regular stock checks to ensure accurate tracking of inventory and minimise discrepancies.
  • Establish relationships with suppliers to negotiate favourable terms and maintain a reliable supply chain.

Customer service:

  • Provide exceptional customer service to create a positive and welcoming atmosphere for customers.
  • Continuously seek customer feedback and implement improvements to enhance the overall customer experience.

Cleaning equipment:

  • Develop and enforce a comprehensive checklist for cleaning and maintaining coffee shop equipment, ensuring adherence to high cleanliness standards.
  • Regularly inspect equipment for wear and tear, and schedule maintenance and repairs as needed to minimise downtime.

Barista skills:

  • Professional level preparation of a variety of coffee beverages, including espresso-based drinks, as well as other hot and cold drinks, following standardised recipes and ensuring consistent quality.
  • Take customer orders, provide recommendations, and ensure accurate and efficient order fulfilment.
  • Contribute to the overall success of the coffee shop by actively suggesting process improvements, participating in training programs, and sharing feedback and ideas.

Food preparation:

  • Maintain the display of pastries and other supplier stocked food items
  • Prepare limited menu of café food items, such as toasties

Ensuring food and hygiene compliance:

  • Maintain a thorough understanding of local health and safety regulations and food handling standards.
  • Implement and enforce proper food safety practices, including storage, preparation, and sanitation protocols.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance and address any identified issues promptly.

Allergy awareness:

  • Maintain accurate records of ingredients and allergen information for all menu items and communicate effectively with customers regarding allergens.

The ideal candidate should be able to contribute to the overall success of the coffee shop by actively suggesting process improvements, participating in training programs, and sharing feedback and ideas.


REQUIREMENTS:


  • Previous experience in a managerial role within the coffee industry or catering establishments.
  • Excellent organisational and time management.
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems, preferably experience with the REKKI app.
  • Thorough understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations.
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards.
  • Allergy awareness and knowledge of handling procedures.
  • Ability to problem-solve and make effective decisions.
  • Familiarity with our Point of Sale system - SQUARE
