Job description
We are looking for an experienced Business Manager, who will lead our small team and manage the operations in our PACK & SEND Spitalfields service centre in Aldgate East. The role primarily involves strategic, managerial, and operational responsibilities and includes ongoing training and development in all aspects of the business.

PACK & SEND specializes in sending Anything Anywhere, especially fragile, large awkward and bulky consignments. We international network of retail service centers throughout Australia, New Zealand and the UK, where we have been constantly growing for the past decade.
PACK & SEND’s business mission is to satisfy the needs of businesses and householders by providing them with the very best solution when they send any item anywhere in the world. The Elephant & Castle store specializes primarily in the safe packing and sending of fragile artworks and antiques.
The successful candidate will be inducted to the business and he will be entitled to
- £ 35,000 basic salary as soon as fully trained
- Up £ 15,000 yearly, performance-based, bonus scheme after 6 months of employment
Scope
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Management
- Continually managing all resources – human, financial, assets – to maintain standards and obtain the best return in the long term.
Operations
- Organising pick-ups and deliveries
- Consigning all packages correctly
- Tracking and tracing all consignments
- Managing communications in and out of the Service Centre
- Purchase stock to maintain appropriate inventory levels
- Maintain good relationships with suppliers
Sales
Responsible for managing the sales aspects of the business in accordance with the business system as outlined in PACK & SEND’s Confidential Operations Manual. This includes:
- Professional handling of telephone sales
- Performing legendary levels of customer service
- Ensuring appropriate pricing calculated for customers
- Measuring and recording the source of new business
- Handling customer services and complaints
- Ensuring weekly sales reports are completed and emailed to the Master Franchisee when due.
Finance
- Managing stock control
- Achieve monthly KPI targets
- Implementing remedial actions as advised by the Master Franchisee’s monthly KPI review.
- Follow up with Debtors and manage cash flow to ensure payment of suppliers within their trading terms
Safety
- Applying Occupational Health & Safety policy
Key accountabilities
- Achieve sales targets as outlined in the Business Plan.
- Achieve or exceed Financial KPI benchmark targets.
- Achieve a net profit as outlined in the Business Plan.
- Provide ongoing training to the Business Development Manager and Business Co-ordinator so that they can take on more responsible roles in the future.
- Maintain all PACK & SEND standards and obligations as outlined in the Confidential Operations Manual.
