Retail & Post Office Manager
Keshco Ltd is a small family owned company and we expect manager to run the stores as if they were their own.
Besides the basic salary; we would incentivize managers that make a difference to the profitability of the store, raise standards and provide excellent control and reporting with a strong performance based bonus.
What you will be doing as a store manager:
· utilising EPOS data to maximise availability and efficiencies in store
· coaching, mentoring and developing your team to serve our customers and deliver the business’s goals.
· reacting quickly and positively to changing priorities
· recruitment and rotas, arranging cover at short notice so not to cause any disruption to the business.
· Community Engagement, Social Media and building up relationships with other local businesses. Source Local Produce and suppliers wherever possible
· Organisation and attention to detail are key. You should be able to introduce and mentor/police rigid structures and processes in store that your team members should follow.
Using technology to help the business grow and achieve business objectives.
Who can be a our store manager?
Someone who is always ready to get stuck in and work alongside colleagues on the shop floor. You’ll inspire your team by showing them how the success of your individual store fits into the bigger picture of Keshco’s purpose. We’re also looking for:
· retail management experience is preferable, however we welcome other industry management experience too
· a great people leader with experience in leading and developing successful teams
· experience in improving business performance and forecasting
· commercial understanding of how to stand out against local competition
· confidence in managing conflicting priorities
· The role requires working on weekends and a manager should work a variety of shifts to gain full knowledge of the business so they can identify issues and areas that can be improved.
In ideal circumstances, you’d be working a 40 hours a week over 5 days, one of which should be on the weekend. We don’t want our managers to work every hour under the sun. An effective manager should be able to build up their team and trust in them to run the store in their absence, but also know when the store needs all the stops pulling out to deliver a great customer experience.
· A manager should also be able to remove themselves from their everyday routine and identify faults and issues with the store as if they were looking at the business from the outside.
· We expect the role to be very much hands on and we expect the manager to lead by example; receiving and merchandising deliveries and queue busting during busy periods. The role will be primarily on the shop floor, ensuring the team’s daily tasks are completed to exceptional standards; however, ordering and the preparation of reports for Head Office will require work to be undertaken in the store’s office.
· Numerical Proficiency, Data analysis and Excel skill are essential. Candidates will have to work out orders quickly as well as analyse sales on a weekly basis to determine what is selling and what isn’t.
