About The Role
Our Stores Team are looking to welcome a Storekeeper who will be responsible for accepting, storing, picking, and dispatching materials in line with the needs of our Purchasing, Production and Sales requirements.
The storekeeper is an essential role to the smooth running of the business and an eye for detail is key to ensure we are selecting the correct products.
This role will be physically demanding, as you will be on your feet all day, the role will also involve some heavy lifting. Whilst carrying out these important tasks you will also need to ensure health and safety requirements are followed, so working within all company safety guidelines is key.
For this role the successful applicant will need basic IT skills to be able to carry out all duties involved.
Key Responsibilities:
The main responsibilities are outlined below. This is not a definitive list and other tasks, and activities may be necessary from time to time to satisfy the commercial activities required by Pumps Business Unit.
- To carry out the following tasks in an accurate and timely manner: -
- Acceptance and storage of received materials and components from suppliers and carrier services.
- The storage and retrieval of goods, into and from stock locations.
- The kitting of works orders, sales orders and branch orders.
- The suitable packing of sales and branch orders and dispatch in accordance with customers’ delivery dates and any special instructions.
- The issuing of shortages and unplanned issues and acceptance of unplanned receipts and returns.
- The restocking of ‘Assy’ parts for Production requests. - The safe use of forklift trucks in the unloading and loading of materials, components and finished pumps onto or from suppliers, customers, outside carriers and fleet vehicles.
- To assist in the preparation and execution of periodic stock taking exercises.
- To ensure that all tasks are carried out within the company Health and Safety policy.
Essential Requirements
- Current Forklift License (Counterbalance)
- Knowledge of stores practices
- Working history within a similar role
- Physically fit due to the nature of the role
