We are looking to welcome a new Interior Design Co-Worker to join our amazing Communication & Interior Design team based in IKEA Croydon.

You will be passionate about providing inspiring home furnishing solutions for our customers, offering ideas for a single product or a combination of products that will support a convenient shopping experience and improve people’s life at home.

The role is hands on and involves interacting with our customers on the shop floor

Start Date: 23rd September 2023
Job will be open for applications until 25th August
Interviews will take place week commencing 4th September 2023

WHAT WE OFFER
  • Competitive Salary starting at £26,000 per annum based on experience and competence
  • Permanent contract working 39 hours a week
  • Shifts 7am - 15:30pm. Monday to Friday
  • This role will require availability to work occasional late evenings, weekends, nightshift and early morning shifts may be required to support our range changes throughout the year.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO HAVE
Where others see home furnishing products, we see smart solutions to create a better everyday life. With a great deal of passion, imagination and brainstorming, we turn colours, textiles and furniture into inspiring environments that excite, engage, and convince IKEA visitors that they can do it too!

You have a driven, 'hands on' way of working, and you are eager to provide inspiration to our customers by demonstrating a keen eye for aesthetics supported by commercial visual competence. You should have a practical, hands-on approach to tasks by actively seeking improved methods of working in a simple, lean and cost-efficient way. You have strong commercial awareness and organisational skills.

Ideally, you would have a relevant Interior Design or Architecture Qualification and/or relevant hands-on interior design experience within a retail or home furnishing setting. You will also be computer proficient, with knowledge and experience of using relevant software such as AutoCad.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY
  • Working with our commercial calendar you will plan, design and execute the vision on the shop floor
  • Contribute to positioning the IKEA store as the first choice for home furnishing in your local market.
  • Apply your home furnishing knowledge to ensure up-to-date room settings and other store media that exceed our visitors’ expectations.
  • Stimulate and inspire interest for home furnishing by constantly showcasing new solutions that motivate people to visit the IKEA store frequently.
  • Reflect the IKEA Brand identity by creating visual impact in all commercial, sales support and co-worker areas.
  • Visualise, generate and present new ideas through your commercial, aesthetic and practical knowledge.
  • Use your home furnishing competence to create home furnishing solutions in room settings, homes, vignettes and sales support areas that reflect the IKEA identity.
