About the role

The West Northamptonshire Stop Smoking Service are seeking a Stop Smoking Specialist to join the team on a full time (37 hours) permanent basis. The successful applicant will play an important role in the implementation and expansion of the smoking cessation programme. We welcome applications from those with experience of smoking cessation and/or health improvement.

The Stop Smoking Service provides specialist stop smoking support, and works with key partners to create referral pathways and upskill staff who engage with groups in which smoking is highly concentrated. The Stop Smoking Specialist will help to achieve these aims and more.

The role will be based predominantly at One Angel Square in Northampton, but some working from home will be permitted.

What will you be doing?

The successful applicant will conduct training with external organisations, provide stop smoking support to residents of West Northamptonshire, and line manage the services Stop Smoking Advisors and Senior Administrator. The Specialist may also be called upon to represent the service at events and to conduct outreach work that targets specific populations.

About you

We are looking for an efficient and organised individual with a passion for health improvement. A background in smoking cessation would be beneficial, but experience in helping individuals to improve their health and helping organisations to promote good health and wellbeing is just as important. You must be a confident communicator and an exceptional multitasker.

The council is in the process of implementing a new pay structure and terms and conditions which will be applicable to this role. The outcome could result in a future variation to the advertised salary, and this will be discussed at interview.
