Overview:
Under direct supervision, the Lab Support Clerk provides general clerical support services. This includes filing and administrative duties along with and inventory resupply.

- Maintaining an organized filing system for all pathology slides.
- Pulls slides as requested by physician for deepers.
- Files physicians request forms for deepers/special stains/problem resolutions.
- Sends duplicate slides to referring physicians
- Pulls requisitions for all departments when requested and returns requisitions to file.
- Sorts and delivers interoffice mail daily.
- Posts all outgoing mail and maintains postage machine.
- Assisting other departments with clerical functions when available including filing requisitions and organizing filing cabinets.
- Maintains QA reviews of outside path reports and files with corresponding requisition.
- Returns slides to file when received back from outside facilities & documents the return in the computer system.
- Maintains patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Operations Manager, Director or Physicians.

Required Work Experience:
- N/A
Preferred Work Experience:
- 1+ years inventory/supply experience
Physical and Mental Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry thirty (30) pounds.
- Ability to operate materials handling equipment as needed
Skills:
Ability to communicate effectively with all members of the health care field.
