Are you interested in using your data analytics skills to help reduce workplace injuries and fatalities in Saskatchewan? If so, the Ministry of Labour Relations and Workplace Safety, Occupational Health and Safety Branch, has an opportunity for you.

Reporting to the Supervisor of Analytics, the Statistical Analyst will update, modify and quality control a variety of relational databases and data systems to monitor Branch activities and inform program delivery. The position will regularly develop, run, and troubleshoot Microsoft Excel formulas and SPSS queries and scripts to ensure the quality, efficiency and effectiveness of data analytics deliverables. The position works collaboratively with internal clients in order to diagnose, understand and resolve data analysis and reporting issues, as well as identify and capitalize on opportunities. The position is responsible for regularly updating the Branch’s key performance indicator reporting systems, as well as providing training, technical assistance and advice to a wide range of Ministry staff. The Statistical Analyst regularly composes and presents a variety of technical reports using Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook and PowerPoint.

The successful candidate will have advanced knowledge and experience with Microsoft Excel, database and statistical principles and software, as well as quantitative analysis techniques. Knowledge of IBM SPSS, Microsoft eCRM, and/or Workers’ Compensation Board data sets would be definite assets. You will have strong interpersonal and communication skills and demonstrate initiative, integrity and attention to detail. You will thrive working closely on a small team in a dynamic environment that integrates and applies data analytics into policy and program delivery. Typically, the knowledge required for this position would be attained through a relevant university degree or other post-secondary education program, as well as several years of relevant work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
