About the role
The Genetics and Genome Biology department are looking to appoint a Staffing Administrator on a part-time, permanent basis. The main responsibilities of the role are to lead on the coordination and organisation of various staffing processes within the department, including recruitment of staff, management of fixed term contracts for existing staff and overseeing and coordinating starters and leavers processes.You will be working alongside the Operations Manager, supporting their work and providing local advice to staff at all levels on University HR policies and Procedures. As well as this, you will also be working with the Director of Research and departmental research committee to promote departmental research activities and also support the activities of the departmental Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Committee.
About you
As our ideal candidate, you will be educated to A-level standard (or equivalent) or possess significant relevant work experience in a comparable setting. Alongside you education/experience, you will be able to demonstrate excellent IT skills and knowledge including use of Microsoft Office package.You will have working knowledge of University infrastructure, systems, policies, procedures and regulations and understanding of GDPR, with ability to deal with confidential issues in a sensitive manner. You will have experience of communicating and coordinating with a team of staff and using initiative and judgement to resolve problems independently.
