Our HR team sits within the Professional Services Admin team within the department, which helps facilitate the department's smooth running through our people-focused initiatives.
About the role
This is an exciting time to join a small, fast-paced team in a HR generalist role. The post holder will provide, and often lead, a comprehensive and effective HR and Staffing Service to all members of staff within the department, as well as ensure that all staff are aware of and adhere to HR policies and procedures. This role involves offering supporting colleagues through the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment and selection (including VISA’s and Immigration), onboarding and induction, employee experience and leavers, and processing PGTA and honorary contracts etc. The postholder will offer advice to staff on appropriate staffing procedures in matters relating to probations, appraisals, recruitment, and selection and best practice etc.
The Staffing Administrator will work closely with the Senior Human Resources Administrator in supporting the implementation of people-focused initiatives and activities within the department. The postholder will help achieve a high quality and timely service to staff and others internal and external to the department.

About you
We are looking for an experienced HR Administrator to join our team (experience working within a HE or research environment sector is highly desirable). You will be educated to A-Level or equivalent at Grade C or above and/or have acquired relevant experience in administration. You will have a good understanding and working knowledge of HR policies, basic employment law (including right to work legislation) and recruitment and selection. You will need to be able to prioritise and organise your workload, have excellent communication skills and be able to deal with sensitive information in a professional manner.
