What You Will Do:

  • Be a subject matter expert in the area of corrosion inhibition in the oil and gas industry.
  • Adhere to company safety practices and set a good example of safety culture.
  • Help our customers and sales team to troubleshoot problems associated with corrosion.
  • Act as a mentor to the team and help to train and guide newer members.
  • Discuss and draft corrosion inhibitor testing protocols to support recommendations and be able to carry out the necessary laboratory work to justify recommendations.
  • Presenting results, findings and recommendations to customers is expected.
  • A desire to expand knowledge and capacity through the design and implementation of fundamental research projects as well as publishing the learnings when possible.
  • Expand ChampionX capability based on the latest information available in the industry.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • PhD and 7 yrs experience
  • Experience in a senior research role
  • Experience with oilfield corrosion inhibitor applications
  • Good working knowledge of linear polarization resistance “bubble” tests, rotating cylinder electrodes and rotating coupon autoclaves.
  • Good written and presentation skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of oxygen scavengers and biocides.
  • Experience with high pressure rotating cylinder electrode for preferential weld corrosion.
