An exciting opportunity has arisen for Band 5 Registered Nurses to join the Major Trauma Ward at Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.
The Major Trauma ward SCN will play a key role in support of NHS Greater Glasgow & Clyde’s specific vision to develop a world class Major Trauma Centre as part of the West of Scotland Major Trauma Network.
We require an enthusiastic and motivated Band 5 Registered Nurse .We are looking for a caring, hardworking individuals to join our team and provide a high standard of care to patients within this new 24 bedded ward.
The Major Trauma ward in Queen Elizabeth University Hospital will care for Major trauma patients from across the West of Scotland. Staff will gain skills in the care of a wide variety of injuries – for example Orthopaedic Trauma, Vascular injuries, blunt and penetrating trauma, trauma in the elderly and acute brain injury. The ward will have a combination of patients admitted directly from Emergency Department and transfers from Critical Care department.
You will work closely with the dynamic multi-disciplinary team to ensure a high standard of acute care and rehabilitation is provided for patients to support their recovery .
It is essential that you are a Registered Adult Nurse with current NMC registration and an interest in Major Trauma nursing. A willingness to learn is essential. Experience in a related speciality would be advantageous.

Hours are 37.5 hours per week full time, working a 12 hour shift pattern over day and night shifts including weekend and public holiday cover.
