Job description
Working as a registered nurse on a 34 bedded ward for care of the elderly, working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
To complete all registered nurse competencies e.g. observations, dressing, admissions, discharges, referrals, personal care. We aim to work together to ensure a holistic nursing approach and we support patients and relatives.
Walsall Healthcare NHS Trustprovides integrated acute and community Healthcare in the West Midlands serving a population of 260,000 residents. Walsall Manor Hospital houses the full range of district general hospital services. The £170 million development was completed in 2010 and we are continually upgrading. Construction of the new integrated critical care unit was completed in2018,extension of a Neonatal Unit and brand new, state of the art Emergency Department is in the process of being completed.

1. Responsible and accountable for assessing, planned implementation and evaluation of nursing care. This will be achieved by using a patient centred approach in the provision of care in order to meet the physical, psychological social and spiritual needs.
1. Accountable and responsible for accurate and legible record keeping in accordance with the local policies with due regard to NMC guidelines.
1. Act as a point of liaison for multi-disciplinary and multi-agency working in order to achieve the best possible outcome for patient care.
1. Provides registered nurse support to junior nursing staff.
1. Maintains a safe level of nursing staff, taking remedial action and reporting to senior staff when this cannot be achieved.
1. Maintains the service to meet standards and outcomes identified by Senior Sister/Senior Charge Nurse/Ward Manager in accordance with national evidence based guidelines.
1. Contributes to the efficient and effective utilisation of Trust resources.
1. Maintains the Trust’s aims and objectives within the clinical setting.
