Job Title: Staff Nurse
Department: Acute Surgical Wards
Salary: £38,961 – £43,905 per annum
Hours of work: 37.5 per week (Internal Rotation to include Days, Nights and Weekends shifts)
Contract: Permanent
We are an Agency currently looking for a Staff Nurse to work in one of our hospitals in Central London. See below information about the hospital.
The hospital is a 56-bedded acute hospital specialising in Colorectal, Urology, Orthopaedics, Men’s Health and Women’s Health which is provided by a friendly, professional and supportive team who are focused on being a centre of excellence for a wide variety of surgical procedures and treatments. You will be part of a team that cares for a wide range of surgical patients.
Job Summary:
We are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated Staff Nurse to join our dynamic team. As a Staff Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive nursing care to patients, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being. Your expertise and commitment to excellence will contribute to delivering exceptional patient outcomes and an exceptional healthcare experience.
Our nurse to patient ratio is usually 1:4 which means that we can offer excellent individualised nursing care.
This is the ideal role for a nurse wishing to develop and extend both their clinical and leadership experience in surgical nursing.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care to patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of their care needs
- Administer medications, treatments, and procedures in accordance with established protocols and guidelines
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualised care plans for patients
- Monitor and record patients’ vital signs, symptoms, and changes in condition, and report any concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring confidentiality and adherence to regulatory standards
- Educate patients and their families on health promotion, disease prevention, and self-care techniques
- Ensure compliance with infection control protocols and maintain a safe and clean environment for patients and staff
- Participate in staff meetings, professional development programs, and quality improvement initiatives
Requirements:
- Registered Nurse (RN) qualification with valid registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) in the UK
- Previous experience working as a Staff Nurse in a hospital
- Strong clinical skills and knowledge of current nursing practices and procedures
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and the healthcare team
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritise patient care
- Demonstrated commitment to professional development and continuous learning
- Ability to adapt to changing situations and handle emergencies with composure and professionalism
- Knowledge of relevant healthcare regulations, standards, and best practices
- Basic computer skills for documentation and electronic health record systems
