This band 5 position offers an exciting opportunity to work on Ward 10 and coronary care at the Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital.
We currently have full and part time vacancies in adult nursing. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to work between both clinical areas.
Ward 10 is a Cardiology admission ward which incorporates 6 Coronary Care beds. On the ward you would care for patients who have heart conditions including acute coronary syndrome and acute/chronic heart failure, as well as various tachy and brady arrhythmias requiring pacemakers and implantable cardioverter defibrillators . Whilst working in the coronary care unit you will have the opportunity to look after level 2 patients, this requires monitoring and treatment of clinically unstable patients.
This role also provides opportunity to rotate in to our lab to gain competencies in procedures such as elective and emergency pacemaker/implantable cardioverter defibrillator insertion and elective diagnostic angiography.
Ward 10 is an acute 30 bedded Cardiology admission ward incorporating 6 Coronary Care beds. We aim to provide excellent acute care to a wide range of patients. We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic nurses to join our team.
Experience in this area would be beneficial, however support and training to develop knowledge and skills will be provided. Commitment to the development of your knowledge and skills to degree level and to the provision of high standards of personalised care is essential. Evidence of contemporary knowledge and recognised post registration continuous professional development qualifications would be an advantage.

- To assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care working as a member of the ward team under the direction of the Ward Manager.
- To be responsible for the organising and co-ordination of nursing services in the ward/department in the absence of senior staff on a regular basis.
- To exercise accountability as set out in the NMC Code of Professional Conduct.
- To be responsible for all nursing care standards and to maintain high clinical standards.
- To role model compassionate and inclusive leadership in order to shape the creation of a collective leadership culture within the trust.
