Job description
We are looking for an enthusiastic Band 5 Registered Nurse to join our dedicated and friendly team on the Gynaecology Ward based within The Women’s and Children’s Hospital at HRI.
Cedar Ward is a diverse and fast-paced clinical area, which sees a high turnover of patients. We care for women undergoing both elective and emergency gynaecological surgery, general gynaecology and emergency admissions. Cedar Ward also cares for women with complications in early pregnancy up to 16 weeks gestation.
Previous gynaecology experience would be considered an advantage but not essential as training will be provided for those candidates that demonstrate a keen interest in women’s health.
The successful applicant will have a positive, caring attitude and excellent communication skills. You will be committed to the Hull and East Yorkshire Teaching Hospital’s NHS Trust Vision and Values to provide evidence based excellent care and be motivated to learn and share new ideas for improving the patient experience. Flexibility and teamwork are essential for the role.

Will be responsible for the safe high quality assessment, planning and implementation of care delivery to a diverse patient group including both emergency and elective gynaecology patients.
The care of patients pre and post operatively.
The care of patients experiencing complications in early pregnancy up to 16 weeks gestation
Accurate record keeping
Safe administration of oral, intramuscular, intravenous and subcutaneous medications
Working collaboratively with the nursing team to ensure patient flow, timely discharges and managing bed capacity
