Bedford Neonatal Unit is looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic Staff nurse, with interest in this speciality, wishing to join our friendly Neonatal team. We have a vacancy to offer an amazing opportunity for you to make a difference to the lives of newborn babies and their families.

Since merging into Bedfordshire Hospitals Trust, we are privileged to have a collaborative service with a highly respected Tertiary Unit.
We are a Level 1 Special Care Baby Unit, with 12 cots providing 1 intensive stabilising care cot, 2 High dependency and 9 special care neonates.
Within this role you will assist in providing family integrated care, with high standards of service delivery for these vulnerable babies & their families.
Good communication skills are vital, along with professional respect for all.
We are passionate about the care we give to babies, and you will be well supported to further enhance your clinical knowledge and expertise within our Trust.
This is a rotational post working both day and night shifts; therefore, flexibility with working hours is essential.

Having undertaken an induction within the neonatal unit, & working as part of the neonatal team, it will be your responsibility to deliver a high standard of family integrated care to all babies and their families, in accordance with the ward philosophy.
Within their level of competence, the post holder will be expected to teach and support other nursing and non-nursing staff.
Additionally teaching and supporting parent(s) / carer(s) in skills to care for the sick infant would be required.
Development of basic neonatal clinical skills is key, in line with NMC standards, national guidance & hospital values.
