Tayside Children’s Hospital provides a range of paediatric services to Children, Young People and their families across Tayside. Our unit includes a busy acute Children’s Ward and a High Dependency Unit. We also provide day case and outpatient services. This includes a Day Case Surgery Ward, Children’s Investigation Unit, Children’s Assessment Unit and Outpatient Department.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for Play Assistant to join our friendly team to provide play, recreation and support to children and young people admitted to hospital.
To meet the challenges of this post you must hold an HNC or SVQ 3 in Child Care or NNEB Qualification and have experience of working with children in the community, along with an understanding of the needs of the children and their families attending our unit.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are essential alongside flexibility within working pattern.
Your performance must comply with the national “Mandatory Induction Standards for Healthcare Support Workers 2009” and with the Code of Conduct for Healthcare Support Workers.
