The Opportunity
Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD), a division within Caterpillar has an exciting opportunity for a Staff Accountant role within the Inventory, Materials & Costing team located in Peterborough.
The successful candidate will be required to understand, analyse, and report on all areas of locally managed material and material costs. T
The Staff Accountant advises and provides guidance to multiple functional areas and levels of authority and is capable of handling complex accounting issues and accounting standards.
Job Duties/Responsibilities may include but are not limited to
Member of the Business Resources Accounting team responsible for the reporting of Financial Analysis for the Peterborough facility, along with associated commentary monthly
Consolidation of the overall local material for the business unit, including month end, annual planning and forecasting cycles
Manage ad hoc information requests from business partners
Month end financial close including journal preparation and associated trend analysis
Completion and consolidation of monthly corporate reporting requirements and presentation and explanation of results to management
Adhoc project work Skills and Experience
Skills and Experience
Professional certification (ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent). Applications are welcome from candidates who are part pof fully qualified Accountants, qualified by experience or finalist level
Strong analytical skills, with the ability able to understand detailed data and analysis and translate to key messages to non-finance leaders.
Management accounting experience
Excellent communication skills and confident in presenting financial information to senior management.
Adaptability and able to fit into a dynamic and fast-moving accounting team and global business.
Good organisation skills and ability to meet tight deadlines.
Excellent business partnering skills
Strong Microsoft office skills essential.
Digital analytics tool experience would be beneficial e.g. Power Bi, Alteryx (Desirable)
Experience in implementing process improvements and can demonstrate focus on continuous improvement (Desirable)
Experience within a manufacturing company (Desirable)
