As a major division within NHS National Services Scotland (NSS) the Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service (SNBTS) plays a vital role not only in the health of the people of Scotland but also on an international scale through our leading position in new product development, biomedical research, and donor / clinical services. Our goal is to maintain the highest standards of patient/donor care whilst remaining internationally competitive.
The Donor Services Department is responsible for the planning and provision of adequate supplies of safe, high quality blood components for NHS Scotland in full compliance with regulatory requirements.
The Post:
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the multidisciplinary Service and Quality Improvement Specialist Function (SQI) within the Donor Services and Transport (DS&T) Directorate. The multi-disciplinary function of the SQI Team is varied and aims to support and implement both large and smaller scale change projects and quality improvements effectively. Ensuring regulatory compliance is maintained, consistent standards applied, and training needs identified/delivered.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone to join our SQI team. As an integral part of the team, the SQI Officer assists with multiple areas of the business including, with the delivery of projects and varied improvements over DS&T wide departments.
The Candidate:
You should be educated to degree level or have equivalent experience within a blood transfusion/NHS related environment.
Location and Working Pattern:
SNBTS National Centre, Jack Copland Centre, Heriot-Watt Research Park, Edinburgh. Travel possible throughout Scotland to various SNBTS locations.
Currently hybrid working.
Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week.
It is a condition of this employment that you must live and remain a resident within the UK for the post in which you will be employed with NSS.
