About usDrysdale’s are a large-scale vegetable producer and processor based in the Lothians and Borders of Southern Scotland. We grow approximately 800Ha of Specialist vegetables including Brussel sprouts, Leeks and Swede.About the roleDrysdale’s are looking for a versatile, enthusiastic and conscientious full-time Sprayer Operator to work and learn alongside our experienced spraying team.The successful applicant will be expected to operate and maintain one of two self-propelled sprayers. This will be coupled with carrying out all essential record keeping for the sprayer too.Whilst working as part of a small spraying team, the successful applicant may be required to assist the larger farming team at quiet times of the spraying calendar.The salary will be between £35,000 and £45,000 per year based upon experience.Essential skills, traits, and qualifications -· PA1, PA2 and PA4 sprayer tickets - training will be provided upon applicant start date if these qualifications have not been done.· Experience in operating sprayers and large machinery· Takes pride in their work and carries out tasks to the highest standard· A keen eye for detail· Has an interest in crop protection and husbandry· Experience of working in the agricultural sector· Has basic workshop skills· Willing to work flexible hours during peak times· Self-motivated and works well as part of a team· Has a desire to progress in their career· Full UK driver’s licenseDesirable skills, traits, and qualifications –· An agricultural qualification from further or higher educationSalary will reflect on the knowledge and experience of the successful candidate.
