Essex Professional Coaching are looking to recruit Sports Coaching apprentices to play in improving the health and wellbeing of children, by delivering fun, inclusive and engaging activities that help to bring about a change in physical activity habits.
Apprentices will engage with training that will develop and enhance their coaching skills and equip them to work in a variety of environments, with a range of stakeholders and work effectively in partnership with other organisations.

Our Sports Coaching Apprenticeship Programmes include the following training:
· Level 2 Community Activator Coach or Level 4 Sports Coaching Apprenticeship Qualification
· Level 2 Coaching Award in Multi-skills Development in Sport
· FA level 1 Football coaching qualification
· 1st 4 Sport - Mental Health Awareness for Sport and Physical Activity training
· Workshops and skills festivals focused on: Behaviour Management, Safeguarding, Personal Development, Mental Health, Wellbeing & Digital Skills
· PE CPD & Resources covering the complete national curriculum (Including invasion games, striking and fielding games, net and wall games, athletics, dance and gymnastics)
All programmes are designed to give the learner extensive understanding and experience in:
- Confidently delivering fun and engaging sporting activity sessions at holiday camps
- Leading sports clubs during extra-curricular time at primary schools
- Providing sport and physical activity guidance to children
- Organising/running programmes that promote healthy lifestyles to young people
- Initiating positive behaviour change toward physical activity in community settings
Key duties throughout the programmes include:
- Assist staff with their delivery of PE in the school curriculum
- Assist staff with their delivery of before, lunch time, and after school sports clubs
- Assist & lead sessions on our holiday camp programme during school holidays
- Assist & lead sessions on our various football coaching programmes during evenings in term time
- Complete basic administration and office related tasks
We will support you in your personal development by providing you with the underpinning knowledge, skills and experience for the following:
- Progression to a full time coaching position after apprenticeship
- Careers within the education and leisure industry
