About the role
This is an exciting opportunity to join Sense within the sport and physical activity team as we deliver our Sport England funded project activities across the North West Area.
The successful candidate we will continue to grow our programme by reaching new people and new communities across the country. Our ambition is to enable more people with complex disabilities to have access to the physical, mental, and social benefits of being active. Description of Role
The Sports & Physical Activity Coordinator is responsible for growing the provision of sport & physical activity opportunities across the North West area, including Greater Manchester, Cheshire and Lancashire.
We are looking for someone who has previous project coordination experience, particularly in setting up new activities, and who can build strong partnerships. The role requires connecting and communicating with a team who work remotely across England and Wales, so the ability to work as a team and independently is key.

Responsibilities Include:
Coordinate the delivery of a sport & physical activity programme across North West England organising virtual and face-to-face taster sessions and regular weekly programme of activities for people with complex disabilities.
Lead the recruitment of participants with complex disabilities into the programme in line with KPIs, both from within Sense services and in the local community.
Monitor the regional expenditure in line with agreed budgets, providing feedback and reports as necessary.
Develop local partnerships with providers and facilities across the region, who can host and deliver ‘Sense Active’ sessions.
Develop local partnerships with Health and Social Care organisations, Local Authorities, Schools, Colleges and community groups to create referral pathways into the ‘Sense Active’ programme
Coordinate and deliver continuous professional development workshops for people working within the sports sector

Be able to adapt your communication style to meet the needs of those you are working with. Where necessary develop new skills to enable communication through sign and symbols
Strong IT skills, with advanced use of Microsoft Office. With ability to create and manage excel spreadsheets to manage budgets/programmes
Successful track record of developing and recruiting people to community based programmes
Experience of developing successful partnerships to deliver community- based programmes, meeting agreed targets
Experience of working effectively on a remote basis, and as part of a team
A willingness to travel regularly across the North East as required, occasionally on a national basis including overnight stays To apply:
