If this describes you, then we want you to apply for a rare and exciting opportunity to join our Children’s Speech and Language Therapy team on a fixed term basis.
This full time Band 4 Assistant Practitioner posts sit in our innovative Early Years Transformation Programme and is currently funded until March 2024.
You will support and train parents and childcare settings in ways to best help children’s emerging language. This will include running baby groups, coaching adult child interaction techniques and supporting settings to carry out interventions based on outcomes of targeted screening. You will access the support and direction of registered Speech and Language Therapists.
The post will be based in Central Clinic and Taibach Library in Neath Port Talbot

You will be working under the direction of registered Speech and Language Therapists and be responsible for the organization and planning of activities, booking appointments and arranging time-tables.
You will assist in the planning and delivery of training to upskill the childcare workforce
You will be expected to input into specific database, complete observations, gather information and maintain records in line with Health Board and Departmental standards
You will use knowledge and experience of developmental speech, language and communication disorders to feedback to the Speech and Language Therapist progress made against goals.
You will be required to be able to travel between bases and community venues, with equipment, in a timely manner.
