Job description
Shire Healthcare are currently sourcing an experienced Speech and Language Therapist for a specialist Child and Adolescent Mental Health (CAMHS) service based in Lancashire. The successful Speech and Language Therapist will support children and young people within an acute mental health ward, Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit and Low Secure CAMHS ward.
This is a full-time, permanent position.
The role:
- Working as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Managing and prioritising a caseload of children and young people with mental health needs
- Completing speech, language and communication assessments
- Planning, implementing and evaluating individualised therapy programmes
- Leading and mentoring a junior members of the team
- Playing an integral part in the planning and development of the speech and language therapy provision
The ideal Speech and Language Therapist:
- Holds a relevant Degree/Diploma in Speech and Language Therapy
- HCPC registered
- Experience of supporting children and young people
