Applications are invited for a substantive post in Sexual and Reprodcutive Healthcare at Central Middlesex Hospital / Community Clinics in Brent (1 post), part of the London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust. This is an exciting opportunity to work in one of the most ethnically diverse areas of the UK with a team renowned for innovation in health care.
The successful candidate will be expected to support the Consultant in the delivery of the highest standards of patient care and service developments for 4 PAs worked on Thursdays and Fridays.
The Trust provides Integrated Sexual Health Services and HIV care across Brent, Ealing, Harrow and Hillingdon from hospital and community clinic sites using a hybrid model of face to face and distance consultations.
Clinics are open mornings, afternoons and evenings and Saturday mornings forming a network of provision which includes Primary Care and Pharmacies with Young People’s work and HIV prevention provided by Brook, THT and Spectra.
The Services provide training for DFSRH and STIF qualifications for GPs, Nurses and GP trainees through innovative training posts.
HIV clinics run in each borough with in-patients being looked after by the Infectious Diseases team, with whom there is close working.
The appointee will be expected to work with the Consultant (Dr Maryam Nasri), medical, nursing and administrative colleagues to provide a Contraceptive service within an Integrated Sexual and Reproductive Health Service
Also he/she will need to:
- Provide safe and effective care in line with departmental and national guidelines
- Help to facilitate the departmental audit programme.
- Teach GP trainees, undergraduate medical students and nurses in clinic
- Provision of contraceptive clinics including a dedicated Young People’s clinic
- Work towards providing a fully integrated sexual health service with an emphasis on contraceptive provision but with some STI management also

- Central Middlesex Hospital: our planned care site, hosting a range of surgical and outpatient services and collocated with an urgent care centre.
The post-holder will work within the Integrated Sexual and Reproductive
Health Services in Brent. The Brent service is based at Central Middlesex
Hospital with a satellite clinic at Chalkhill Health Centre.
The Hillingdon service is based at The Wakley Centre (Hayes) and Oaklands
Medical Centre. The Harrow service is based at Caryl Thomas Clinic in
Wealdstone. The hub of the Ealing service is at Mattock Lane Health Centre
(Ealing) with a satellite clinic in Southall (Southall Broadway H/C). All
services provide a full range of Contraceptive and Reproductive Health
Services including high levels of LARC to diverse local populations.
The services are currently working towards integration with the GU Medicine Services historically provided in each borough with a single hospital site at Central Middlesex Hospital and Community based hubs and satellites in Brent, Ealing and Harrow and Hillingdon. The service works closely with eservices, local GPs for the provision of LARC and Pharmacies for the provision of EHC as well as voluntary sector providers working with Young People and providing HIV prevention. All local services are active in training both Doctors and Nurses for DFSRH and LoCs.
