Job summary
To perform physiotherapy assessment of patients with diverse presentations and complex physical, cognitive and psychological/mental health conditions.To provide a diagnosis of functional status, to develop and deliver an individual treatment plan.
To hold responsibility for own case load and be responsible for a defined area of the service or a particular patient type, working with access to direct supervision.Supervision takes the form of formal training, clinical reasoning sessions and peer review.Access of advice and supper from a senior physiotherapist is available as required, clinical work is routinely evaluated.
To undertake all aspects of clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner, demonstrating time management and planning skills.
To supervise, educate and assess the performance of less experienced physiotherapists and assistants to ensure the standards of practice of the department are met.As practice placement educator, to supervise, educate and assess the performance of physiotherapy students.This would be to a graduate standard and involve working with a senior physiotherapist and university staff.
To undertake evidence based departmental audit and research projects, in association with a more senior physiotherapist, to further own and teams clinical practice.
To carry out other duties deemed necessary by the lead/head clinician in discussion with the post holder to ensure adequate provision of service.
