We have a temporary Band 6 post for 10 months.
This is a exciting opportunity for someone to experience a new setting and develop their skills in a busy, acute, friendly and supportive team within an acute hospital.

The post is part of a wider dietetic team covering Acute and Community services which includes specialties such as ENT, Nutrition Support Team, Diabetes, Heamatology , Cystic Fibrosis, Critical care, Renal and Home Enteral Feeding.

The post holder will be based within the acute teaching hospital.
There will be opportunity to experience a variety of specialties.
You will be essential in providing Dietetic care to patients whilst they are in hospital and then arrange ongoing care as required.
You will work with band 4 Dietetic Assistant Practitioners in the ward environment, you will also have opportunity to mentor rotational band 5 dietitians with our community colleagues.
You will have the opportunity to work along side multi - disciplinary teams providing the optimum outcome for patients.
The newly funded post will provide the successful applicant with the opportunity to develop the Dietetic service within the unit and also help to promote Dietetics within the Trust. You will use your expertise to maximize patient outcomes as part of an integrated MDT approach. The post is also responsible for the mentoring of junior staff within the department and also in participating with the Band 5 Dietitian rotation support with our community colleagues.

Setting up nutritional care plans for patients and monitoring them in an acute setting.
Attending daily board rounds, complex case discussions and MDT meetings as required
Supervising junior Dietetic staff working on the unit.
Undertaking audits, training and supporting ward staff
Part taking in student training and Band 5 dietetic support.
