The shift pattern for this post is Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm
An exciting opportunity has arisen within North East Mental Health In-patients (Stobhill) for Specialist Dieticians’. This role of the Specialist Dietitian in Mental Health comprises of 3 broad functions, assessment and clinical treatment, health improvement and support and training to others to ensure consistency in practice in the delivery of evidence based nutritional care. The post holders will be the main source of professional advice within inpatient wards and work collaboratively with medical and nursing staff, Clinical Psychologist, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Pharmacists and maintain professional links with the AHP Professional Lead. You will require highly developed skills of communication negotiation and motivation to appropriately influence the direction and delivery of clinically effective nutritional care. You will work as an autonomous clinician within defined area of Mental Health and take full responsibility for a specific caseload and use expert clinical judgment to priorities patients with highly complex needs and compromised nutritional status. The post holder will provide outpatient clinics and provide nutritional advice for referred patients e.g. eating disorders, weigh management, gastrointestinal conditions, diabetes, allergies, drug/nutrition and be able to demonstrate a broad clinical knowledge across a range of conditions. Ideally you will have a minimum of four years post qualification experience and demonstrate evidence of audit and investigation skills in delivering clinically effective practice. You will be educated to Degree level or equivalent and be a registered Dietitian with the Health Professions Council. Full details of the post specifications can be found in the Job Description.
