Applications are invited from Biomedical Scientists, registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), for this Band 6 Specialist Biomedical Scientist post, based within the Transplant and Cellular Immunology Laboratory, situated at St Jamess University Hospital, Leeds. The laboratory is accredited by the European Federation for Immunogenetics (EFI) and approved for training by the HCPC and the Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS).
The Transplant Immunology Laboratory employs the latest technology (PCR based methods, Next Generation Sequencing, flow cytometry) to perform recipient and donor matching and compatibility investigations, in support of regional renal transplant and haematopoietic stem cell (HSC) transplantation programmes. This is a forward thinking laboratory with a strong focus on, and involvement with, patient management. The successful candidate will be encouraged to develop their knowledge and skills in a specialised range of techniques.
