The department supports ROSE clinics, a Mohs service & there is scanning equipment to support the digital agenda. The post-holder will be encouraged to participate in this project as we progress to a fully digitised pathology service
The department operates 6am-7pm Mon-Fri & Sat 7am-5pm. The successful candidate will also be expected to participate in the rotational Bank Holiday service-approx. 1 per annum, currently not Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year’s Day or Good Friday, & the ‘on-call’ rota.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
As part of a small team, you will be involved in the day-to-day running of the main laboratory within the department.
In conjunction with the cellular pathology quality lead & senior biomedical scientist team, you will ensure that the area continues to meet all quality standards required & all relevant documentation in preparation for UKAS accreditation visits is available & continues to be kept up to date.
You will be involved with the UKNEQAS CPT EQA submissions for the area as required, highlighting & responding to any non-conformities raised.
You will supervise & train staff as directed and required.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
You will need to be registered with the HCPC as a Biomedical Scientist or Clinical Scientist with comprehensive experience in Cellular Pathology.
You will need to be an excellent communicator & be able to work effectively as part of large team.
You will need to have an excellent attention to detail & possess good manual dexterity.
You will need to be able to prioritise workload & adjust to accommodate unexpected events &/or changes in demands.
