Are you experienced in organising events? Are you a brilliant communicator who can juggle conflicting priorities?

We are looking for a highly organised and creative Special Events Officer to join our growing team to plan, deliver and evaluate the effectiveness of both virtual and face to face events targeted specifically at major donor, corporate partner and VIP/influencer audiences.

Dogs Trust is the largest dog welfare charity in the UK with a nationwide network of rehoming centres and charity shops. Last year, Dogs Trust centres cared for over 14,000 dogs; we never put a healthy dog down.

We are reliant on voluntary donations to continue our work. Dogs Trust is fortunate to receive some large donations from charitable trusts/foundations, corporate partners and wealthy individuals and we believe there is potential to increase funds from these sources significantly to expand our work even further.

The Special Events Officer works alongside the Corporate Development, Corporate Partnerships, Trusts & Foundations and Philanthropy Teams to support with the identification, cultivation and stewardship of prospects through delivery of an annual events programme ranging from intimate dinners and patron receptions through to larger garden parties, conferences, auctions and concerts.

To be successful in this role you will have previous experience of end to end coordination of medium to large events and logistics, with excellent attention to detail and a methodical and organised approach to your work. You will have exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically with a wide range of people at all levels, and you’ll be proactive and able to work both independently and as part of a team or project group.

This role requires occasional regional and international travel across our network of rehoming centres and for venue recces, donor meetings and event delivery days.
