Special Event Paramedic $60.00Per hour + daily over time after 8 and double time after 12
POSITION PURPOSE AND SUMMARY:
Under the Operations Manager, the Special Event Paramedic (“employee”) will perform duties associated with providing medical and first aid services and emergency medical care to the sick and injured in accordance with all applicable California laws, County regulations where work is assigned and Westmed policies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Special Event Paramedics must possess and apply knowledge and skills necessary to perform the duties of a Paramedic including being accredited in both Santa Clara and Alameda County. In addition, paramedic’s must also adhere to the following:
- Must be capable of performing all duties autonomously including within the context but not limited to aid station locations and/or remote posts where they are the sole medical provider.
- Responding to emergency and non-emergency requests calmly, efficiently and promptly;
- Administering basic and advanced life support to patients at the scene, in a pre-hospital/pre-transport setting in accordance with federal, state, and local laws, regulations and standards;
- Assessing the nature and extent of injury or illness to establish and prioritize medical procedures to be followed;
- Maintaining order at scenes, including crowd disbursement and restraint of family and friends; and Completing patient care documentation and all other forms in a competent and timely fashion.
- Conduct pre-event medical equipment inventory.
- Cleaning, organizing and restocking supplies in a ready condition after each use;
- Maintaining accurate records of request for emergent and non-emergent first aid and medical care. Properly document each customer/patient interaction on the approved Patient Care Report in accordance with policies and procedures;
- Handling radio communications professionally and efficiently with careful regard to the divulgence of information respecting confidentiality requests at all times;
- Work Cooperatively with assisting agencies. This may include, but is not limited to; Event Staff, Volunteers, security teams, EMS Transport agencies, event participants and spectators in a professional and courteous way.

Pay: $60.00 - $65.00 per hour
