Mission System Engineer
Reading
£40,000 - £60,000
Product / Service: We developed the world's first and only air-breathing satellite propulsion; Currently working with global leaders of the Earth Observation market.
The Mission System Engineer Role:
We are looking for a Mission system Engineer with good knowledge or awareness of orbit analysis, constellation configurations, RF link analysis, system budgets, operations, ground segment, space environment and satellite mechanical and electrical architectures.
The Mission System Engineer Responsibilities:
+ System engineer/technical lead on NewOrbit missions
+ Generating new mission concepts, system performance modelling
+ Development of mission and spacecraft designs
+ Leading related R&D activities and carrying out R&D studies and developments
About You:
+ Experience as a technical lead on a space mission project
+ Proven experienced spacecraft Systems Engineer
+ Experience of designing space missions starting from end-user requirements (ideally cradle to grave)
+ Experience of designing and analysing space and ground segments to the sub-system level
+ Ideally with experience of downstream spacecraft level testing
Additional skills:
+ Excellent knowledge of STK and Matlab or equivalent analysis tools
+ Good knowledge of a wide range of satellite applications, e.g. Earth observation, communications, science etc
+ Knowledge of FMECAs and FDIR design, environmental testing (eg vibration and thermal vacuum tests)
