Our food is innovative with the varieties of spices and found to be extraordinary. Grand Cholan is formed to cater such elegance of food to be served at the heart of London- Docklands which is next to the world-famous business hub – Canary wharf. Our mission is to prepare and serve the traditional recipes passed on to generations. Our signature curries like Kerala beef curry, Chicken curry, Lamb curry’s methods are from old journals which will taste uniquely comparing to other authentic restaurants. We balance between spices and heat to maintain taste and flavour. High-quality ingredients sourced from the local market.

The Role and Responsibilities:

We're looking for an experienced and ambitious South Indian specialty Chef to join our growing team.

  • Introducing South Indian items in the menu, recipes and developing dishes ensuring variety and quality making sure it is of the highest possible standard.
  • Co-ordinating with other chefs and kitchen staff to prepare dishes and accompaniments when required.
  • Preparing ingredients for food inventory needs. They will comply with safety regulations and ensure all orders are plated properly and served on time Ultimately responsible for ensuring the kitchen meets all regulations including sanitary, food safety and food hygiene practices with health and safety.
  • Ensure kitchen is clean/hygiene regulations and keeping up with industry trends and creating new recipes.
  • Work effectively with both back of house and front of house team.
  • Ensure that all kitchen functions operate smoothly.
  • Participation in menu planning and kitchen equipment.

Key Skills / Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience working in a reputable restaurant business.
  • Wide range of In-depth knowledge about food and health and safety.
  • Passion for hospitality and attention to detail
  • Experience in quality fine dining environment
  • Ability to run designated section including day to day ordering
  • Commitment to team work and good communicational skills
  • An energy and enthusiasm for learning and developing
  • Ability to demonstrate flexibility and operate in a changeable environment

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: £26,000.00-£28,000.00 per year
