We are currently seeking a Solutions Quantitative Developer to join our brand new Solutions Analytics and Research team to support both technology developments, business growth and transformation of the Global Solutions team.
Our team is responsible of designing proprietary analytics that support the engagement of Solution strategists with clients and help them positioning HSBC AM investment capabilities in the context of Insurance, Climate, Pension, and Wealth activities.
We seek for an individual who is freshly graduated or with an initial work experience in a similar field, who is passionate about quantitative finance or mathematical modelling and is keen to learn in a very dynamic, innovative, diverse and inclusive environment. Our team is international covering a large spectrum of expertise from quant, financial engineering, computational finance and business strategists.
In this role, you will:
- Be in charge of building state of the art simulations tools, quantitative models and coding, or replicating any type of the following concepts:
- High-performance simulations engine and analytics
- Climate–based modelling
- Optimization Techniques for Asset Allocation, and portfolio construction
- Global Asset Classes risk modeling based on risk neutral and real world models
- ALM Techniques for Liabilities Modeling to support insurance and pensions funds clients
- Derivatives Modeling and Pricing Tools
- Intuitive research APIs leveraging cloud computing and cutting-edge visualizations
- Connect and collaborate with the rest of the Global Solutions team to make sure that their business priorities are well reflected in the Solutions Analytics developments
- Collaborate with various stakeholders like HSBC AM Analytics developers, and project managers to complete, thoroughly test, and deliver in a timely manner on the Solutions Analytics platform roadmap
- Build and maintain a close relationship with Solutions Strategists and HSBC AM Sales team to ensure that clients simulations expectations and needs are well reflected in the roadmap of the Solutions Analytics developments and are delivered
To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:
- BS/MS/PhD in Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics or equivalent
- Basic knowledge or previous experience in building Optimal Asset Allocation,
- Knowledge in Quantitative Finance (Stochastic Calculus, Asset Pricing Theories, and Portfolio Optimizations)
- At minimum a beginner level in Python
- Motivated by the transformational effects of technology-at-scale and keen to learn
- This is a Hybrid working role with the base location as Birmingham.. The successful candidate will have to have the ability to commute to this location.
