Harnessing the power of our workforce, the greatest asset we have is our people. As part of GfK, you can take your future into your own hands. We value talent, skills and responsibility and will support your development within our international teams. We are proud of our heritage and our future, as we continue our evolution from Market Research provider to SaaS data solutions and consulting partner. We value extraordinary people and this is why we are looking for YOU to help create our future. For our employees as well as for our clients we pursue one goal: Growth from Knowledge!
Job Description
You will be part of the Consumer Insights team, a digitally focused research team within GfK, and we love collaborating with clients to identify all market opportunities and develop solutions. Our culture is based on creativity and openness, and we encourage everyone in our teams to input to our and our clients development. You will report to the Lead Syndicated Research Consultant
As part of the team you will get to understand market landscapes, dynamics, consumers (and businesses) in that market and translate what we learn into specific opportunities. We love to get immersed in data, work with it, come up with new hypotheses, and keep interrogating what we produce to create analysis we are proud of.
You're good at:
  • Take the lead with a portfolio of clients
  • Use survey data, point of sale, data and observed digital behaviour to tell compelling stories about market movements and new opportunities
  • Manage requests and use data to develop strategic, tactical insights to solve client needs.
  • You will be client focussed, and have a responsible and approachable attitude that builds relationships.
  • You will need be competent at presenting reports, initially alongside a co-presenter, with an expectation of taking full ownership in the medium term.
  • You will have an interest in analytics and technology as the majority of your time will be spent working with mobile operators, TV and broadband suppliers and mobile device manufacturers.
  • Use your knowledge to work with complex datasets in a commercial role, being able to quickly get to grips with the numbers and translate this into insight for our clients.
  • Our data is used across the industry for forecasting sales and determining strategy, so numeracy and storytelling skills are necessary.
  • We love to learn from each other, keep on top of the latest trends and share knowledge through ideas lunches, learning workshops, and team projects. We would like someone to join our team who shares similar passions to us.
You can bring:
  • You understand the ‘shape’ of data and are comfortable working in, or learning to work in, self-service reporting platforms – Survey Reporter, Dapresy or Askia (or any other similar tools – this is about comfort and confidence rather than familiarity with a specific piece of software)
  • You have 1 or more years experience in a quantitative agency or consultancy, and can go beyond the research data to provide clients with clear guidance on how they can get the most out of opportunities
  • You are happy to develop and deliver story led PowerPoint reports and co-present them to medium sized audiences both online and offline
  • You are knowledgeable about, or interested in becoming knowledgeable about, technology so would know the difference between a flagship and a mid-range smartphone; you have an idea about why consumers might move to SIM only deals; and you have an opinion on the relative merits of Android vs. iOS.
Don't meet every single requirement? Some people are less likely to apply unless they meet all the requirements listed in a job specification. GfK is looking for self-starters to join our innovative team keen to take on a new challenge. So, if you're excited about this role but your skills and experience don't align perfectly with every requirement we've listed, we still encourage you to apply. You may be just the right candidate for this or other roles.
Benefits
  • We offer a hybrid working model to the majority of our colleagues (normally x2 days p/w in office) and competitive core benefits as well additional benefits including:
  • Interest free season ticket travel loan
  • Discount Gym Membership with ‘Gympass
  • Eye care scheme
  • Comprehensive Employee Assistance Program
  • Fantastic development opportunities – our inhouse training team hosts different internal and external courses
