Are you looking to become a software tester? Have a passion for testing, developing or coding? If so, then Zoro has the perfect opportunity based in London. We are looking for a new testing apprentice to come on board and help us grow.

As our Software Tester Apprentice, you will get the chance to work and learn from industry profiessionals. Here are just a few of the areas you will be involved with;

  • Reviewing user stories to understand scope of project
  • Writing test cases with scenarios in BDD format
  • Automating test cases for both frontend and backend using NodeJS (JavaScript) as core language
  • Cross browser testing when required using browserstack
  • Working in an agile collaborative environment
  • Raising bugs with developers with clear steps to reproduce with screenshots or video
  • Making sure no major issues are introduced in production, if they are, reproduce the issue and automate it and add to test framework
Entry requirements
  • A minimum of grade C/4 in GCSE Maths and English.
  • Enjoys creating simple, effective, efficient, performant and clean code to power new product features, as well as refactoring and improving existing code
  • Is comfortable collaborating on the design and user experience
  • Cares about shipping high quality products
  • Can take ideas and run with them
  • Has Knowledge of agile development and continuous integration/continuous delivery
  • Has interest in building the infrastructure that quickly identifies and surfaces production issues that impact their users
Training to be provided

You will undertake the ground-breaking Apprentify Software Tester Level 4 apprenticeship.

We have designed our programme to offer you a distinct route into your career path and specialise in areas such as designing and preparing test plans and conducting software testing as appropriate to ensure that software is fit for purpose. Testers will document and report the results of testing activities. They have a good understanding of the software lifecycle and software development practices.

During the 15 months of training, you will learn the most up-to-date theory and industry practice across 7 carefully structured Modules covering the duties that are required as a Software Tester:
  • Implement software testing procedures on software applications to ensure agreed errors and security issues are identified, recorded, prioritised and corrected before release.
  • Review software requirements and specifications for software functionality and security.
  • Design test strategies for projects.
  • Designs and builds test cases, test scripts, and test procedures, with expected results.
  • Develop and collect representative and realistic test data.
  • Conducts a range of different software testing types.
  • Accurately records the outcomes of test activities and maintains accurate test records and reports.
  • Assess test results against expected results and acceptance criteria
  • Present and communicate results effectively using appropriate communication styles and media.
  • Comply with legislation and internal/external standards related to software testing and software security.
  • Complete allocated tasks in accordance with the organisation’s reporting and quality systems
  • Operates within service level agreements
