Position Summary
Samsung is a global leader in the smartphone market, with over 256* million mobile phones sales in 2022 alone. We pride ourselves on quality, reliability and innovation.We are currently looking for a skilled and innovative Software Test Engineer with experience in the mobile handset field.
The role also involves project managing. The candidate will be expected to liaise with various teams in our department to ensure deadlines are on track, to communicate testing scope and share important test documents.
The successful candidate can take pride in the fact that they will have a direct impact on Samsung’s success and quality of our products.
Role and Responsibilities
The main tasks you are expected to perform include, but are not limited to:
- Quality assurance end user testing on live networks.
- Flashing test software on test equipment.
- Ability to capture and upload various logging files.
- Defect Management. Raising and managing software releated issues.
- Mobile Software tests – Interoperability tests, Network Infra, IMS testing & New feature tests
- Market VOC feedback and reporting.
- Contributing to regular progress and test reports
- Provide informed feedback on interface usability and phone design concept.
- Individual management of test schedule / projects assigned.
- Running and set up of automation testing.
- Testing and analyzing new features of mobile devices and network.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential skills are:
- Degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Natural Science, Mathematics, Engineering or any related discipline (equivalent skills obtained via industrial experience may be substituted)
- Strong experience with Agile QA testing
- High level of knowledge in defect management: raising and handling
- A good understanding of documentation requirements
- Expertise in mobile phone technologies (features and specifications)
- Ability to create efficient and meaningful test cases
- ISTQB software testing certification
- Ability to self-manage multiple projects under tight deadlines
- A strong level of presentation, communication and planning skills
- Capable of making decisions, working independently and organising their own workload.
- Displays a confident, approachable, flexible and team orientated approach to work.
- Ability to communicate effectively with all employee levels, including with Senior Management.
Desirable skills include:
- Experience and knowledge in 3G/4G/5G Networks and applications infrastructure
- Automation script writing and executing
- Previous experience of interoperability testing
- Knowledge and experience of AI testing
Contract Type: 12 month contract inside IR35
Location: Staines-upon-Thames, Surrey, UK
Hybrid Working Policy: The role will be office based in Staines-upon-Thames a minimum of 3 days per week. You may work from home 2 days per week if preferred.
