Job description

Tessian

Tessian protects every business’s mission by securing the human layer \uD83D\uDCAB

We're building intelligent security that works for human beings as they are, not how security policies would like them to be. Using machine learning technology, Tessian automatically predicts and eliminates advanced threats on email caused by human error - like data exfiltration, accidental data loss, business email compromise and phishing attacks - with minimal disruption to employees' workflow. As a result, employees are empowered to do their best work, without security getting in their way. You can read more about Human Layer Security here.

Tessian has raised a $74m Series C led by renowned security investors, March Capital (Crowdstrike, Knowbe4), with follow-on from Sequoia, Accel, Balderton, Latitude, Okta, Sozo, Citi & Schroder Adveq, to further our mission to secure the human layer.

Founded in 2013, Tessian is backed by world-class venture capital investors, has hubs in London, San Francisco, Boston, and Austin, and London, and is one of the Top-3 2021 Best Places to Work for Women.

As a Software Engineering Manager at Tessian, you will have the opportunity to provide tactical, strategic, and technical leadership for a software engineering group that supports a critical business domain. In this role, you will support your team in the development of software through the work of Architects, Developers, and Quality Engineers. You will do this by empowering your team to resolve day-to-day issues, workflow, and business issues. You are also expected to apply industry experience, processes, and tools to improve team operations and to build and maintain a supportive, cooperative, and cohesive work environment. As an Engineering Manager, you will regularly coordinate with other functional teams, as well as disciplines like Product Strategy, Product Management and Program Management. You will also represent the team's work with important internal stakeholder groups, working with them to understand their needs and resolve their issues.

Responsibilities:

Support your team’s personal growth and help them to achieve their career goals

Use data to look for continuous improvement opportunities in both our product and your team’s working practices
Collaborate with your Engineering Director to drive cross-team and cross-functional change projects
Work closely with our Talent team to hire world class engineers

Qualifications:
Is experienced working as an Engineering Manager (at least 2 years)
Believes that the best engineering teams are diverse, excited to mentor, coach and grow teams and engineers
Still likes to get their hands dirty with code and can provide technical guidance
