Salary & Benefits: The base salary banding for this role is £66,861 to £74,290 outside of London plus annual personal bonus, 15% employer pension contribution, private medical insurance, 30 days holiday plus bank holidays.

We're looking to recruit a Senior Software Engineer to work in our Enterprise Integration Lab within Core Platforms. We sit within the Chief Technology Office and our strategic roadmap includes IBM Products API-Connect and App-Connect for Enterprise. As well as Cloud integrations including Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platforms as well as Pega Cloud (hosted on Amazon Web Series).
Specific activities which you’ll be responsible for include things like;
  • Providing integration solutions across the enterprise to enable new and enhanced customer and colleague services
  • Supporting consumers to through the Production Readiness Review quality gate
  • Other innovations and Architectural solutions along with supporting existing services supported by legacy technologies and POCS to date include working with Containers and other solutions such as CP4K (Cloud Pack for Integration).
  • Contributing to building a secure culture. Given the nature of our integrations supported across key customer, data and payments Platforms, we adhere to strict security and architectural standards. Ensuring we build secure and reliable solutions
  • Deploying working solutions faster by adopting various test approaches and are always seeking ways to improve this without compromising safety
  • Building a great internal network and develop an understanding of technology uses across the Bank and the activities they perform and value they bring.
What do we need to see from applicants
  • You’ll be a Software Engineer with extensive hands-on engineering experience with previous knowledge of integrating, introducing, and supporting quality code into production environment.
  • Previous engineer experience within a technical delivery team, with a specific focus of APIs or Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) technologies such as Datapower and IBM Integration Bus
  • Builds strong business relationships and communicate in a clear, concise manner and be able to adapt communication style depending on the unique needs of different audiences and working in collaborative teams.
  • Strong ability to design viable solutions and proven problem solver who can help us deliver working software solutions in line with our ambitions.
  • A thirst for building your skills as well as mentoring colleagues to maximise their potential by providing guidance and direction on the GPP product and it’s use in LBG.

  • Proven experience using these technologies would be advantageous:
  • IBM Datapower, IBM Integration Bus or IBM App Connect for Enterprise, IBM API-Connect, Javascript, JSON, Unix/Linux, MQ, Websphere, GitHub, UrbanCode, Splunk, Dynatrace, Flash Tooling
