Software Engineer - OutSystems Lo-code, Permanent
Salary £38,000 - £47,000 & Benefits
Eastleigh
Flexible hybrid working available - to be considered for this position you must be within commutable distance to the office, as you may required to attend the office at short notice.
The Role
We are looking for an experienced OutSystems Lo-code Developer to join our team of Software Engineers in Eastleigh who support and enhance bespoke application software used by our Insurance business.
Key responsibilities:
- Understand business requirements and convert them into technical solutions on the OutSystems platform
- Design system changes according to modular software design principles
- Design and develop a robust and user-friendly application interface and data model
- Write high-quality code according to defined standards
- Analyse systems to re-engineer, update or add new features
- Analyse and identify the root causes of problems and defects and design suitable fixes
- Perform QA including writing and executing unit and integration tests
- Perform usability testing
- Produce documentation describing existing systems
- Work according to agreed deadlines
- Work collaboratively in a team of other developers on projects or individually on small changes

Essential experience: At least 3 years of recent experience showing the ability to analyse, design, and develop systems on the OutSystems Lo-code applications platform:
- Service Studio v11
- Lifetime / deployments
- Service Center / error monitoring and notifications
- Proficiency in web-based languages - HTML, CSS and JavaScript
- Good understanding of relational databases / SQL
- Integrate with other business applications using RESTful APIs
Desirable experience:
- OutSystems Traditional Web Developer certification (or similar)
- Insurance or other financial services
- Developing webservices and writing Swagger/YAML specs
- Lean and/or agile ways of working and use of supporting tools such as Jira
Nice to have experience:
- Create and update technical documentation for developed applications using Confluence and SharePoint
- Experience or knowledge of IBM i and RPG
- Knowledge of integrating systems with PING security systems
- Ability to communicate with business stakeholders of all levels
