Job Summary:
Reservoir simulation software developed in Abingdon Technology center leverages cloud-based HPC frameworks to predict the behaviour of a reservoir over time. The reservoir simulation workflows connect to the HPC framework via an engine abstraction to provide inputs to the simulation, run the simulation and retrieve the output of the simulation run. Existing simulation workflows each have a custom engine implementation. The focus of this project is to unify the engine for these simulation workflows. Our teams develop multi-cloud solutions, work in an agile fashion, and use DevOps methodology. In this project the intern work with technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, ARGO workflows and more, and gain first hand experience on applying DevOps practices to deliver cloud software across multiple cloud providers.
